Sure! Let's have an informal poll! Fun! That'll spark some posts. How about... What's the scariest thing you can think of? I'm pretty sure that for me, it's an army of angry, howling baboons riding huge, slavering bears as though on horseback right at me.
In other news, I didn't sleep for shit last night.
Scariest? Ever since I saw the Shining for the first time at age 10 I've been freaked out by the scene where Shelley Duvall is holding a carving knife for defense, crying and stumbling through the hallways of the overlook hotel. She looks into one of the rooms and sees (very briefly) the following scene: a person in a bear costume giving head to a man in a business suit. At the same time the man turns to look at her, the fellating bear also looks up and stares at her with its soulless black eyes. That scares me. Also, Christians who speak in tongues scare me.
i've recently been reminded of my own peculiar brand of claustrophobia, which has taken to attacking me in the municipal parking garage downtown. seeing the ceilings in that structure loom above me is absolutely petrifying.
also scary: people being set on fire and catatonic children with sunken eyes.
